Stretcher Leveler

Universal Steel Company’s new Stretcher Leveler, also known as the “Memory Eraser”, produces Memory Free steel. This is steel that is flat and stays flat! Memory Free steel is important in operating lasers and plasma cutters at peak efficiency. This Stretcher Leveler is a cost effective alternative to temper passed steel and can be used in place of tempered material or discreet plate.

Our process stretches the steel in addition to flattening it. Simply flattening steel allows internal stresses to be trapped in the steel. Under certain conditions such as laser cutting the internal stress or memory could cause the steel to spring and bend.

Our process exceeds the yield of the steel and removes the internal stress or memory. You may have found the economical substitute for temper passed material!
